Louise graduated in 1998 from the University of South Australia. Her thesis explored Loss, Grief and Trauma within a forensic context, with a focus on complicated and unresolved grief. She went on to complete postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health and Family Therapy.
With over 25 years of clinical experience, Louise has worked across public and private mental health settings, including State and Federal government services, hospital, and community environments. Her recent work includes roles with Queensland Health, Education Queensland, Gold Coast Youth Services, and Domestic Violence services.
Louise provides therapy for children aged 5 years and above, adults, couples, and families in crisis. She works exclusively in therapy, offering one-on-one and group sessions using CBT, ACT, Family Therapy, and Talk Therapy.
She has specialist expertise in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) for clients with “stuck memories” that negatively impact their lives, including trauma, PTSD, veterans, sexual assault, and other complex presentations. EMDR is offered to both adults and children.
Louise also provides the Maastricht Approach for clients who hear voices due to psychosis, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia, and has successfully used this approach with clients experiencing substance dependence and intrusive thoughts. She has specialised training in Disaster Counselling and Eating Disorders.
